Photographer's Note

The Casa Rosada (Pink House) is the Argentina's government headquarters and was declared National Historic Museum in 1942. With the Plaza de Mayo, it build one of the most beautiful Argentina's postcards. Before it be the "House of Government", was located the Buenos Aires' fort in colonial era.

The building of the present seat of Argentina's presidency was started in 1873 when it was built the Post office and Telegraph building. There are two versions for the color of the palace. At the time, it was common mix lime and animal blood to paint, resulting in pink. The other tell that is a peace symbol, because it unites the colors of the two local factions of the civil war: "unitary" (white) and "federal" (red).

E eis que o nosso amigo Luis está de volta, com suas lembranças da região do Río de la Plata. Bonita imagem da Casa Rosada com tantos elementos enriquecendo a composição, como as bandeiras, outros prédios e as árvores. Excelente trabalho, assim como a viagem, que deve ter sido muito boa.

Hello Luis,
This is a good view of a building and a place that I have heard a lot about in the news through the years. The palace is impressive and so are the surroundings. In the far background I see two very modern skyscrapers. The panoramic shape of the photo is well suited for this kind of view. It is also a very clear and sharp photo with fine colours.

Luis, that place is a kind of Argentinian white house. It is the government headquarters. The national flag is hanged up to the massive salmon pink building. A square with a fountain is surrounding the pink house. Benches are planned to relax here. I see also palm trees and a commemorative sculpture.

I just viewed your previous post of the wedding couple, thats a fantastic photo :) Interesting note about the paint colour. the building is so long that you really do have to back up a far distance to fit it all in. it allows you to include the fountain and the tall monument on the right, nice one, it worked out very well for you. cheers

I have previously experienced that the old post offices in Iberia and in Latin America were really beautiful buildings.
So also this one in Buenos Aires.
Isn't it cold there now?
A strange way to achieve that colour of the facade of the Casa Rosada.
Lots of life on the square. It's clearly a popular place.
Excellent composition and framing of the picture.

What an interesting historic city square supported by good info notes: Looks busy and popular spot, vibrant and surely photographers' inspirational place, I love your viewpoint, vividly detailed in brilliant light as some bold colours in the elements obviously steal the eyes. The 'pink' building, the monument and water fountains are well featured to your best which accentuates the composition to bring out the brashness of the place. Lovely lens work, Congrats

Decorated with Argentina flags, managed a fine contrast from different colors.
