Sunset at Jacaré Beach, a photo from Paraiba, Northeast

Photographer's Note

One of the best places to watch the sunset in Paraíba is the Jacaré fluvial beach, where every day we can hear the famous Ravel's Bolero played in violin on the decks of the beach, as shown in the workshop. Another option is to watch it from a boat on the waters of the Paraíba River, listening to the same music interpreted by the famous Jurandir do Sax, who comes on a canoe playing his sax.

The distance between the boats and the shore is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the boats. The sunset is giving nice colours to the sky. Have a nice day.

What a fantastic sunset photo. The orange colours of the sky are gorgeous and the darker tones of the clouds add a great contrast. The calm river and the silhouettes of the boats are an interesting foreground too.

You captured a wonderful atmosphere in this well composed photo. The two boats are well placed on each side of the reflected sunlight and the fringes of the clouds look like they are on fire. The effects of the setting sun are magnificent.

Hello Alexandre, I am not sure about Ravel's bolera played only with violin or sax, i am rather used to orchestra, but I can imagine it must be fantastic to hear the music with observing sunset. Lovely composition with the original boats.

Hello Alexandre,

What a pity we don't have audio as well as visual, for then we could be serenaded, too!

For me, you have composed this perfectly, the horizon situated on the thirds line, with just a hint of the setting sun, causing these wonderful warm, amber hues, in the sky. The sea has picked up the colours to reinforce the warm, romantic mood, whilst the silhouetted boats add a sense of calm.

That must sound impressive the Bolero of Ravel in this ambiance. I think a lot of people will be excited about that. Personally I like Ravel and the sunset here is marvellous, but I think to combination is too much at once for my taste.
