Photographer's Note

The Eclectus Parrot is unusual in the parrot family for its marked sexual dimorphism of the colours of the plumage. The male is mostly bright green with a blue or red tail and wing feathers; while the female is mostly red with a blue/purple abdomen. The upper mandible of the adult male is orange at the base fading to a yellow towards the tip, and the lower mandible is black. The beak of the adult female is all black. Adults have yellow to orange irises and juveniles have dark brown to black irises. The upper mandible of both and male and female juveniles are brown at the base fading to yellow towards the biting edges and the tip.

A very sympatic bird and a very good shot. Framing and POV well selected. The superb color of the plumage arise very well in the coloured BG. Details very well collected too.

Oi Lucas, maravilha de captura deste belo papagaio. Percebe-se que estavas bem próximo e os detalhes estão muito bons. Parece curioso em relação à tua máquina. Gosto imenso do brilho do olho perdido naquele vermelho todo.

Me gusta la distacia en la que capturaste esata foto y este amiguita, por lo que dice tu nota ;))

Muy uen encuadre, colores, nitidez y angulos. Veo que pertecene a alguien por que tiene un anillo en su pata, espero que lo traten bien y lo cuiden y ademas qeu puedan preservar la especie. Sinceramente creo que Brasil es una lugar bendecido

Ótima foto desse papagaio bonito. O foco na ave o fundo desfocado funcionou bem. As cores estão belíssimas, assim como o contraste. As penas ficaram interessantes.

A feast on the senses; superb close-up work of a beautiful bird with impressive profile and gorgeous red-blood colour, magnificent feathers and pin sharp detail throughout even under shade. Shallow dof enhances the contrast and the bonus of super catch light on the eye which is a winner for me. I think you have done him proud, technically well done, Congrats.
