‘Valle de Cocora - The end of the day’

These two pictures are my last ones of the Cocora Valley to present you.
The main picture is taken at the end of the day on the way back to the place where the jeeps for Salento were waiting.

While the foreground was still well-lit there was already too little light for the mountains on the background.
I also didn’t find an object to put my camera on. So the quality of that picture is low. But I really liked to show you the landscape of this valley that attracts so many visitors.

Whoever wants to see more wax palms will find them in the workshop.

Next time a picture of Salento, the village that is the base to explore the Valle de Cocora.

Hello Paul,
I had to wait to see the WS. Didn't want to miss the last wax palms. But I anyway prefer this photo, and I have no complaints of any lack of quality. In any case it's what the photo shows and how it is composed that matters. I like the fine light green tones of the valley compared to the hillsides, and the clouds and colours of what we see of the sky are magnificent, and that includes the haze of the most distant view. It's the kind of scenery and end-of-the-day light that makes you feel humble.

Hello Paul, that beautiful sky reminds me of an oil painting, it is so dramatic.
The light highlights the beautiful lines of the mountains and valley, and of course that luscious green.

Hello Paul,

Such a beautiful, evening shot!
It seriously reminds me of the Lake district in Cumbria.
The valley guides a green path between the mountain slopes, leading o the dusky horizon, whilst the inclusion of the tree-covered slope, in the f/g, creates a fine sense of depth.

Quels instants magiques à admirer cette remarquable vallée verdoyante contrastant avec les sombres nuages d'orage . Un petit manque de netteté peut être , mais c'est tout de même très beau .

Dag Paul,

Antwoord op uw bezoek, de klaprozen werden hier gezaaid in samenwerking met natuurpunt, voor meer wilde bloemen voor de bijen teelt, samen met diverse andere soorten wilde bloemen.
Deze streek is een van de mooiste van het Meetjesland met de vele kreken, allemaal op de grens met Nederland.
Ook deze foto werd genomen op 150m van de Nederlandse grens.

Uw beide foto's zijn opnieuw leerrijk voor mij zeker dat mooie panorama in de vallei tussen de bergen.

Timing of this picture was super, light and colors marvelously in harmony on the scene, masterfully collected.
Diffused tones from the far side slopes to the closer valley area, and the sun glow in beautiful golden tone through the clouds.

Hi Paul,
wow, this is such a beautiful view! The valley looks quite spectacular!
It makes a nice turn in your frame! I like very much a particular mood introduced partially by a slight fog. The vegetation is so lush, I like the silhouette of a palm tree which stands out of the crowd further in the distance.
The sky is very attractive too!
I wonder if enhancing the contrasts could make it even more impressive but I suppose it is the matter of taste.

Sweet views of this Cocora Valley. The depth is excellent, and although the sharpness isn't 100% it doesn't really matter bc its the view of mother nature that wins us over. Also, the clouds make a very cool secondary subject, lots of atmosphere here. another fine shot from Colombia. Cheers

Hello Paul,
This landscape is beautiful, and I like the lighting. The green strip in the middle is especially colorful. I don't mind a softer focus on a wide area. This view has the feeling of a painting, and it would make a nice watercolor. :-)

An exuberant vegetation, with several shades of green, dominating this beautiful and narrow valley, with beautiful and steep mountains on both sides, a cloudy sky gives a touch of drama to the composition.

Magnifique composition avec les monts bordant une jolie petite vallée bien verte.

I can see the green valley is smiling at you. Yes, the richness of the nature in some parts of the world is still overwhelmingly pure, at least from a distant view.
I visited Colombia many years ago too, mostly central and western areas, there's plenty to see. Thanks for sharing?
