Photographer's Note

Valdivia is a city of Ecuador, not to be confused with Valdivia in Chile. It gave its name to the "Culture of Valdivia", a pre-Columbian culture that flourished between 3200 and 1800 BC, on the shores of the provinces of Guayas, El Oro, Manabí, and Daule along the river. One of the characteristics of this culture is the emergence of a ceramic, probably from 3000 BC, with many representations of women.

On many walls of cities and villages of Ecuador (and really tons of paint were used) can be read slogans in favor (yes!) or against (no!) the referendum of 28 September 2008 proposing a new constitution for the country.
