Photographer's Note
Following up on my Ayacucho trip theme, this is the ancient Inca Regional Capital of Vilcashuaman.
The Incas are mostly known to the outside world for the ruins of Machu Pichu which seem to be a small unimportant city.
Vilcashuaman was the capital of one of the Inca Empire's 4 provinces or Suyos. Basically, the Inca empire grew from dominating a small area to an empire larger than the Roman empire covering Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Northern Chile and Argentina and Southern Colombia. They were good warriors and adminsitrators. When conquering a new realm, they would incoprorate their nobility into the inca nobility to ease the domination process. The Incas were but the last of several Peruvian Pre-Columbian civilizations, many of which had much more advanced artistic slills than the Incas.
In the picture we see the Temple of Viracocha which was used as a base for a colonial church. The blue sky is natural highland sky colour.

bonjour Daniel

Bonne journee,
Jean-Yves

Hi Daniel,
A very well composed and colourful shot. The woman walking and other people in the scene very much enhance and balance the foreground nicely. The colours really are natural and not overdone. I like the layered look to the scene - the different buildings all seem to fit well together, then there is a slice of forest and finally the sky. This is first class work, Daniel.
