Photographer's Note
The next famous classical look at Machu Picchu backgrounded by Huayna Picchu. Despite of the wide stream of tourists I have fallen in love with the lost city from the first time. There was wet season, grey morning, bad light conditions and I decided to use the graduated filter to have more dramatic effect: darken surround and light foreground. Thanks for your notes.

Waow, the light on your picture is rally nice. Does a graduated filter is a filter that leaves the lower part clear and the upper part dark ? It looks like a great solution for cloudy days.

Denis,
Just looking at this makes me realise i must visit this place. A nice compostion but very well executed. I think the grad filter works very well beefing up the colours of the grass. The clouds add the extra but it of mystery which i imagine is abundant there. A beautiful place very well captured.

Hi Denis,
I like the colors here; the light is just perfect illuminating the green while leaving the mountains at dark.
I personally don't like graduate filters, but you end up with a beautiful result.

salut denis,
trés belles couleurs saturées, peut être un peu trop surtout avec le ciel chargé de nuages, mais cela donne une bonne lumière sur un endroit historique, que j'espére visiter au mois de mars de l'année prochaine.
merci de nous faire partager ce paysage.

Classical, but always an impressive picture. The light on the city and the mountains in the shadow of the clouds is making a good effect.
Well done Denis

PS, if you fell in love with Machu Pichu, Peru has other lost cities that are not touristy: Choquericao, Vilcabamba, Gran Vilaya and Kuelap to give a few examples

That bright green is a little too much for my taste but it is nice to see an effort to make a different picture out of this view.

Very good use of a grad ND filter, Denis. You have turned difficult lighting conditions into a very dramatic image and well worth posting - despite this being one of the most photgraphed scenes in that part of the world. Good composition and exposure. Cheers . . . David

The filter worked really well as the photo seems well balanced.
The wet season might be trickier for photographers but it pays off by, for example, allowing for greener setups like this one you brought us.
Good POV and colors.

Hi Denis,
This is indeed a special view of this oft-photographed wonderful city. The lighting is not entirely like any I've seen before, for this location, and I like the highly saturated greens.
