Photographer's Note

When I finally went to Agra and Taj Mahal, it was the moment when one dream came true. Agra is a usual Indian big city with chaotic traffic, millions of people and very polluted. I even had a small cycle rickshaw traffic accident, fortunately without any injuries for me or the driver. It was a horror moment then, but very funny when I remember it today. In the middle of all this pollution there were big jumbo signs on the side road "Keep Agra clean. Green Agra". The only ecologic effort I saw in India. During my visit (in 1999) they had a electric bus driving on the route Taj Mahal-Agra fort. It was a real surprise.
I will not write the story of Taj here, because here on TE you can find many similar photos with all history. Today, I can say it was for me no.1 of many Indian highlights. I spent some hours wandering around Taj complex. Spectacular building, it s worth going to India even only to see this. The legend say that Shah Jahan planed to build mirror black Taj on the other side of the river and connect two building by a bridge. He failed. No body know if this legend is true but for sure is very interesting.
