Photographer's Note
I have been one week in the Pyrenees. From my beloved village of Oô I have done different tours and trekking. Again I have been in Gavarnie.
It's the most incredible place you have ever seen. You cannot say you have been in the Pyrenees if you have not visited once Gavarnie, 'le Cirque' ' le Chaos' It's a big collapse, overwhelming. The mountains and the waterfalls and rivers. Two giants ... the water and the earth. The rocks who look like closed books, but you are able to see the pages ... Le Tour, La Casque, Marboré, Trois Pics Cascade, L'Épaule, Breche de Roland.
On the other side Spain, and the Ordesa Valley, Bujaruelo, Pineta, Monte Perdido.
You have two choices to get there from the village of Gavarnie; the tourist highway a smooth path with some easy climbing until you arrive to the Hotellerie du Cirque or a wonderful trekking to the Refuge d'Espugues until you reach the prairie called Pailla; the wild iris flowers are waiting for you ! It's a longer way, but you can have a look to the whole Cirque de Gavarnie including the Breche de Roland.
From L'Hotellerie you can just reach the 'Grande Cascade', 400 meters high. Impressive when you look up to the Marboré, 3248 meters.
It was quite difficult to take the photographs as the light was not the best. The sun was shining just on top of the mountain ! Next time I have to be there early in the morning !!

Hello Roser,
This seem very impressive though I think the image could have a bit more contrast. The cliffs on this mountain give the idea of how rugged this area is. Good framing using the branches and also sharpness. Thanks Roser.

Hi Roser,
Very impressive and grand view of the mountain, Love the snow cover area here and there, the water falls really give a great sence of the height of the mountain. the tree branches and leave on the foreground adds great depth to the scenery. Just beautiful I can almost smell the fresh air. Thanks

Hi Roser
Interesting varied gallery you have. Nonetheless I selected the latest uploaded picture. It is a nice shot with great DOF, but the mountain range most probably needs a bit more contrast. If you have such difficult light conditions, then try to get it right by using different EV steps. When you often have very bright conditions, then go for a medium ND filter. Otherwise well captured scenery and nice execution in difficult light condition. Well done
Best regards
Urs
