Photographer's Note

This is taken from atop Discovery World's Pilot House in Wisconsin. In this shot I'm looking in the opposite direction from my first Pilot House image, and it's a few minutes later. The sun is setting behind me and we are looking east across the southern end of the Lake Michigan.

The city of Milwaukee is to our left and behind us. As with all Milwaukee images, this was taken with my friend's Canon EOS 20D.

The pink tones you see in this picture are the reason I was inspired to shoot that evening. I've added some contrast and sharpened just a hair, but that's about it. I was lucky enough to have this space all to myself for awhile and I relished the opportunity.

You can probably tell why so many people rent out this space for weddings and other special occasions. It can accommodate 500 people. There's even special lighting inside so you can match the ambient light to your wedding colors. The building has floor to ceiling windows that can be darkened with curtains to show movies. Events at Discovery World also have access to a very high quality catering company called Bartolotta.
