Photographer's Note
I am acutely aware of the fact that thid is technically not a perfect picture at all. However, I was very keen to upload this because of the story that picture tries to communicate.
Mumbai is city of glamour, aspirations and the city where millions migrate to 'Make It Big' in life.
The glitz and glamour of Mumbai is unparalleled. The city has always been known as the land of dreams. So much so that, the noted musical director Andrew Lloyd Webber produced and directed a musical on its magic, entitled 'Bombay Dreams'.
Mumbai is home to the largest film industry in the world: Bollywood. With more than 1000 films per year and tickets sales worth 3.6. billion, Bollywood is one of India's greatest export items next to IT. Its appeal works like a magnet and wannabes from all over the country throng to the city in search of fame and money. Many famous film stars who reside in Mumbai today were once small time employees in unknown and forgotten firms.
Every day thousands stream into Mumbai to make their dreams come true. Some do, some don’t. But everyone stays on. Some in sprawling penthouse suites, some in one-room slums, but no one wants to leave. Once you know Mumbai, you're addicted to its rhythm.
Even with all this, compared to other metroes of India, Mumbai is far more humble & genuine. Its not an arrogant metro. Its an Accomodative metro.
Mumbaikars - as people of Mumbai are called are far more liberal. What you see in picture is an evening shot by marine drive where couples come dating. Most of them could be husbands and wives because they stay in joint families in small houses and lack privacy at home.
Mumbai also is a story of despair.26/11.And few politicians who wants only Marathi mother tongued to be staying there.....
But the Glamour never fades.
Vive la Mumbai

i like the imperfect-ness here ! the light streaks add to the 'dream' factor. And nice composition !

Hi Satyakki. I really like this shot. Very simple but effectful. The lightbeams over the sky gives a great atmosphere. Scenes like this can be found all over the world. Young lover looking out at the sea. So universal and yet so special.
Regards, Henrik.

Hello Satyakki,
Yes not technically accurate, but effective with the dreaming couples lined along the wall, the darkness brightly lit along the street, and the magical colored rays.
Good job,
Ray
