Photographer's Note

Restauradores Square (Portuguese: Praça dos Restauradores) is a public square in the city of Lisbon, Portugal. It is located at the southeast end of Avenida da Liberdade, near Rossio square.
The square is dedicated to the restoration of the independence of Portugal in 1640, after 60 years of Spanish domination. The obelisk in the middle of the square, inaugurated in 1886, carries the names and dates of the battles fought during the Portuguese Restoration War, in 1640.
The monument was designed by António Tomás da Fonseca, with statues symbolising "Independence" and "Victory" by sculptors Simões de Almeida and Alberto Nunes.
The rectangular square is surrounded by 19th and early 20th century buildings. The most remarkable are the Palácio Foz, a palace built between the 18th and 19th centuries and boasting magnificently decorated interiors, and the old Éden Cinema (now a hotel), with a beautiful Art Deco façade dating from the 1930s, a work by architect Cassiano Branco.
Also notable is the old Condes Cinema, built in 1950 by architect Raul Tojal in Modernist style. It now hosts the Hard Rock Cafe of Lisbon.

Olá Gonçalo,
me gusta el encuadre vertical que has escogido para esta toma y el punto de vista tan bajo, que unidos al gran angular, nos permiten ver esta plaza de forma espectacular.
La belleza del monumento y de la arquitectura que rodea la plaza se complementa con el bello grafismo geométrico del pavimento.

Caminhei por aí em Fevereiro passado ... Já aquela outra grande praça ( a do Comércio ) estava fechada para reformas ... Concluiram as obras?

é um dos monumentos mais famosos de lisboa, aqui vc nos apresenta um pov diferente do usual, a trama da calçada é magnífica e vc a aproveitou com maestria, gosto do detalhe das pombas no chão, o monumento e as fachadas estão muito bem colocados, lindo o céu com uma parte nublada e a outra em azul. lindo trabalho, parabéns

You highlighted very nicely those graphical designs on the pavement. Somehow, the colour-contrast balance in the photo reminds me of the similar photos belong to 1970s:)

une utilisation optimale du grand angle, avec peu de déformations, une photo bien construite dans son cadrage et son format.Un post processing efficace pour accentuer le bleu du ciel. De très bonnes lumières.

Oi Gonçalo, excelente aproximação ao desenho desta calçada portuguesa que tem tanto impacto visual como o obelisco naquele céu espectacular. O equilíbrio é perfeito nesta composição vertical. A centralidade do WS tb é interessante mas esta ganha aos pontos :) O autocarro turístico tb oferece um bom extra na palete de cores.

Very nice shot, I like the vertical format that let you include much of the forground tile floor which adds so much to the composition. Good details and texture. The floor itself can be made into an abstract composition.

Bonjour Goncalo,

Le graphisme de cette esplanade déserte, hormis ces quelques pigeons, donne une profondeur extra à cette photo qui est déjà avantagée par l'effet du grand angle. J'aime beaucoup le contraste et le relief donné par ce ciel magnifique. Beau et intéressant coup d'oeil, merci Goncalo.

Ya estoy de regreso despues de unos dias de vacaciones.
Fantastico plano de este bonito rincon lisboeta, me gusta mucho el grafismo que aporta desde el primer plano el geometrico dibujo del pavimento, precioso monumento que luce mejor con ese bellisimo cielo. Me gusta mucho tambien el otro plano que pones el el WS. Buen trabajo con una acertada luz y color.
