The one with lightning, a photo from Western Finland, South

Photographer's Note

Summer 2010 in Finland has been warmest ever. Highest officially measured temperature in Finland is now 37.2 C. Warm weather has also brought some strong thunderstorms. This one was, again, seen though my kitchen window.

A very fine capture, obviously with a flash... Interesting to study the full details of the lightning and some extra lightning at the side. The illumination of the clouds look great.

so Finland has been warmer of Italy. this has given the possibility to get of this shot full of drama, and a lot fascinating. a true decisive moment with a light very well catch.

Olá Kari, 37.2C...we have that in daily basis in Granada ;-) but I imagine how unusual that must be in Finland. In the last days the temperatures dropped down a bit and we also had some warm rain and storms which is unusual. Beautiful lightening line you got here. Love the whole ilumination and tones in the sky. Nice half half balance with the street which also has a good exposure.

There are other fine photos I like in your gallery but I was striken by this one: not an every day sight and a difficult task to capture the lightining in the right moment. I like the contrast of the warm/cold colours and the night atmosphere.
Some time we don't have to go far to shoot good photos!
