Fire & Ice, a photo from British Columbia, Western

Photographer's Note

It was early in the morning after i had taken some Blue Hour Photos and i was happy with my shoot, so i was driving home.

But to get out of Stanley Park, you have to drive all the way around it, not thru it, and as i was driving, the sun came up and created this wonderful view for me.
The large pond was frozen over, and the sunlight was peaking out among the Condos.

Hey great title. The only thing missing in this beautiful photo are some rocks (bet they would've been red in this fantastic light ;) Excellent reflections and exposition. You must be delighted with this...and after Blue Houring it all morning too! Great job, have a lovely evening.

As your cityscape photos show, Vancouver is an inexhaustible source of beautiful architectural and natural scenes. This one is simply fantastic. The optical reflection in the ice surprisingly looks even more attractive, colorful and aesthetic than the sky itself and residential block being reflected. Absolutely great composition, lovely light, wonderful colors, and ideal quality!

Just an incredible shot with some amazing colors. The warm orange and yellow tones look particularly outstanding, creating a nice contrast with the overall cool atmosphere of the picture.

Excellent capture of this moment, definately worth stopping the car for. The strong range of colours is really impressive, the picture is cold with lots of blues but those reds and yellows really come through too. Really well balanced with a slip of shore showing at the bottom and stunning reflections. TFS

A good title for this photo.
The scene that you caught at dawn offered you a real spectacle of light and of colors, which with the frozen pond they create a fantastic atmosphere of fire and ice, of course.
The beauty of the golden and orange tonalities on the ice and on the clouds, they do a magnificent aesthetic work in your composition, and the buildings add the necessary graphism to complete a great photo.

Superb well coloured view with beautiful colured light of the sky and especially the reflections in the ice. this large coloured Fg give depht to the image and learn the glance to the silhouet of the buildings in the BG.

Gosh, Craig, you've posted so many lovely shots since I last looked, that I'm not sure where to start! I have enjoyed browsing all of them.
I particularly like this one for its fine composition and wonderful colors. I am immediately reminded of a stained-glass window. The colours are so warm and relaxing, it's the sort of shot most people would welcome on their living room wall.

For me a very unusual view; a reflection on the ice. It works marvellous. The skyline i don't find very beautiful but thats personal taste. the light is so amazing that the eye is catch by it.
