Photographer's Note
Dussehra, Dasera, Durga
Puja or Vijayadasami is
celebrated to memorialize
Rama’s victory over demon king Ravana who
abducted the Rama ’s wife Sita. This festival
symbolizes a moral victory,
as good prevails over evil. The effigies of
Ravana is set ablaze by shooting
arrows of fire at their effigies by a person who
acts as Rama by putting on
robes supposedly worn by
him. He is accompanied to
the venue by two persons
who pose as Sita and Rama’s brother, Lakshmana.

.
In this frame you can see one artist is preparing the heads (10 in number) of Ravana, and two childrens watching the whole activities curiously. I found this frame interesting and now sharing it with you. Hope you'll like it.

Hello Subehnedu,
An interesting post with this curious scene of life very well colected. Beautiful image too with the repetition of the element which give depht and prospect effect. The attitudes of the three peoples are very well collected.

Hello Subhendu,
An interesting composition full of charm, with these these two children quietly watching the artist at work. They also help give us a sense of scale for the size of the masks.

Hi Subhendu,
Lovely composition . I like the way the heads of Ravana look. The artistic hands of the artist, the curious look of the girl add more spice to the shot.

Bonjour, cher ami Subhendu,
Bel effet de masques à répétition, j'aime également l'application que prennent les jeunes gens à la mise en peinture.
Très intéressante note d'accompagnement également.
Très bonne journée.

Hi Subhendu, It's a nice photo to show this artist at work, however the work is a little rough but still very impressive, I like the POV as it even shows the mans brush touching the face, kind regards Wilson.

Dear Subhendu
Very interesting picture! I took some similar pictures when I was in Delhi...of course Ravana was different. While this is a very good picture, I might suggest couple of things...
1. A lower POV at eye height with the painter
2. Waiting for the boy to turn his head around
I like it as it is, though!
Best Wishes

Hello Subhendu,
What a fine photograph of a well spotted subject. You caught the light perfectly to give a beautifully clear and detailed shot. Contrast of color is fantastic with white dominating.

Hello Subhendu,
You always provide informative notes, and it is a pleasure to learn — from the exotic photographs and accompanying notes. I imagine the material is paper maché.

Namaste Subhendu,
I notice that each artist with his part of the head to be painted, this man in the foreground, the face, and that in background this kind of crown, all is in the organization…. And these two young people seem very interested by these preparations. A catch of sight coloured and interesting, like your note, thank you Subhendu.
With all my friendships and with soon,

the painting of the masks and the way that the other two children watch the whole work of the man make the scene to be a good snapshot.Beautiful the perspective and the POV.
