Photographer's Note
Nuptse (7861m) is just SW of Mount Everest, and is seperated from Lhotse by a 7556m saddle. The steep west face drops more than 2300m to the Khumbu glacier. The south face is 2500 high and 5km wide. Its summit had only been climbed 3 times by 1996.
This is taken from the west. Nup-tse is Tibetan and means west peak.

A stunning image. Beautiful light. Excellent exposure and composition. Could the shadows have had a bit more detail in them?

David,
Thanks for sharing. This photo is great. Nice colors and lighting. I especially like the summit being clear and the other smaller peaks somewhat shrouded in clouds.

You got quite a serie landscapes and this one I favor for it's incredible golden coloring in contrast to the deep blue sky, it shows you know the region quite well to spot these places, I like also the clouds giving the mountain an extra dimension. Thanks for this nice view.

David,
Wonderful shot! The deeply saturated colours of sky and sunlit mountain compliment each other nicely. Did you use a polarising filter here?

Hi David, Good clear photo with attractive sidelit colours. The dramatic wisps of snow blowing off the peak looks good. TFS. Murray.
