Merry Christmas!!!, a photo from Evora, South

Photographer's Note

As usual, I'm posting another photo of the Nativity scene in Monsaraz. Once again I've chosen a night shot, when it's all illuminated. That's when I prefer it, as most part of the visitors go away as the night falls.
Along this street we can see different characters.

This is an event that usually attracts many people to Monsaraz. It has around 40 real size characters, created by the sculptor Teresa Martins, that are placed all through the village. You can find them in the most amazing places. There are beggers sitting on the stairs of the church, a woman taking water from the well, women and children in the streets... and the main characters right near the entrance of the castle.

And with this post, I'm wishing you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

Waaw Ana.This is one of the best Christmas postcard never seen on TE.What a magnificent choice of point of view to create this magic 3D effect,they seems to walk real!The best exposure too for the best lights,colors and impressives details everywhere too.My great great compliments and i wish you all the best me too! Great concept here, Ana! I like the soft light, the low angle and the framing down this beautiful cobblestoned street. And a nice illustration of this interesting nativity as well - amazing how elaborate it is! Merry Christmas to you as well.

J'aime beaucoup cette composition de circonstances. La photo de nuit est parfaitement réussie et les couleurs sont superbes. Le point de vue au ras du sol apporte beaucoup de profondeur à l'ensemble.

I love your upward point of view that enhanced the size of the statues, created superb depth and perspective, established a strange but effective contact with the expressionless faces and accentuated the vividness of the expressive postures. What a fascinating scene and a great concept to disperse these beautifully made sculptures across town. I love the low vertical angle and also the horizontal one, it makes for a very engaging capture. Oh, the colours are beautiful too!
