Photographer's Note
The Castle of the Moors is a hilltop medieval castle located at Sintra. Taken by Christian forces from the Moors after the fall of Lisbon, it was an important strategic point. The castle was constructed during the 8th to 9th century, during the period of Arab occupation of the Iberian peninsula, as the central place in an territory that was immeniently agricultural, and which was necessary to protect its population. The castle is an irregularly planned military outpost that follows a 450 metre perimeter on top of a mountainous cliff, oriented southwest to northwest. It consists of a double line of military walls that meanders over the granite terrain of the promontory. The panoramic vieuw is breathtaking. If you look good you can se a groep of peaople enjoying the views at the tower on the right.

A wonderful viewpoint with the sinuous wall leading the eye up to the top of the castle. Interesting layers of green tones along the slopes and good contrast with the blue sky. A postcard quality shot.

Hello Kik,
I've visited this castle many years ago and I remember that I was very impressed by the wall winding over the hill and the rocks, like a small version of the Great Wall in China.
From your chosen POV we get an excellent overview of this wall and the castle on top of the hill.
I specially like the many different tones of green, so wonderful under that blue summer sky.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Kik
I like the elongated u shape formed by the castle walls at the top of the hill. Good sharpness and a marvellous blue sky. Excellent saturation and upward pov with interesting repetition of the granite rocks protruding from the greenery. The large fg pine tree at left adds depth and layering. Tfs!

Hello Kik,
Klein beetje verraden de bomen en struiken dat
het niet China is, anders (en zeker op het
eerste gezicht) denk je dat het de Chinese Muur
is. Omgeving is indrukwekkend en de foto is
verzorgd vastgelegd.
Vriendelijke groeten,
Robert

Hi Kik,
Strong composition, straight forward and to the point...and it works brilliantly. A beautiful natural fusion of the landscape, the solid rocks, lush greenery and man made fortress all work in perfect harmony. Looks like a miniature Great Wall of China. :) Love the exposure, plenty of bright light with a lot of sharp detail and a nice point of view. Impressive arrangement and execution. Bravo! Have a great week ahead.
All the best,
Jason

Hi kiks,
very original presentation from Sintra. I remember well this place. Usually people prefer to present the view of colorful Palacio da Pena so it is good to see this fortress instead.
Lovely well saturated colors. Amazing location.
Very well done!

Hi friends,
furthermore of the sharpness and the quality of the image and of the colors, I love the nice contrast between the brown tones of the rocks, the green ones of the vegetation, and the blue sky. The walls and the castle adds a beautiful graphical effect in the composition.
A great work.

Hello Kik,
You're capturing well this place by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the castle and fortress with long rampart which was built on the hill. It has melted into the surrounding green well. And, as historical military strategy of a battle of a race, it is interesting to see and know this place as you note in here.
Kind regards,
mikio
