Photographer's Note

About this composition:

The POV has been taken from a hilltop keeping the eyelevel as that of the prayer flags.

The people in the frame is kept to give an idea of the proportion and size details about the landscape and the flags.

A prayer flag is a colorful rectangular cloth, often found strung along mountain ridges and peaks high in the Himalayas. They are used to bless the surrounding countryside and for other purposes. Prayer flags are believed to have originated with Bon, which predated Buddhism in Tibet. In Bon, shamanistic Bonpo used primary-colored plain flags in healing ceremonies in Nepal. They are unknown in other branches of Buddhism.[1] Traditional prayer flags include woodblock-printed text and images.

The 5 colors of prayer flags represent the 5 basic elements: yellow-earth, green–water, red-fire, white-air, blue-space. Balancing these elements externally brings harmony to the environment. Balancing the elements internally brings health to the body and the mind.
