On Sunday, November 20, vzw Survivalrun Meetjesland organized the 22nd edition of the Survivalrun Adegem. "It was another special edition, because they have the honor to organize the Belgian Survivalrun Championship", says Carlos Bonamie. Survivalrun is an adventurous outdoor sport where the athletes take a course through fields, forests and canals. "On the way they have to overcome a whole series of obstacles," Carlos continues. "It mainly concerns rope obstacles. In addition, disciplines such as tree trunks and - heels, archery and kayaking are also discussed. The length of a survival run depends on the series and varies between 7 and 25 km. "Recreational athletes who want to enjoy a day of adventure will also enjoy their stay in Adegem. "We were an entry-level range of 7 km for beginners (individual, intercourse and parent-child run), a recreational half-run of 10 km (individual and combined) and then three competition series of 11, 17 and 21 km." the little ones were thought. For them a separate kidsrun is mapped out of 1.5 or 3 km. "There is something for everyone. They are aiming for more than 500 participants this year, "said Carlos Bonamie. The start and finish of the Survivalrun Adegem were located near the marquee of Ter Moere along the Moerwege in Adegem.

Hallo John,
Niet alleen is het een mooie foto van deze kaarsrechte vaart te midden van de rijen bomen, de survivalrun dwars door de foto is een prachtig en onverwacht detail. Je moet er maar zin in hebben zo over het water te klauteren. Uitstekende compositie en mooi licht.

Thank you for such an interesting and informative note. But, I am sorry, I don't think I shall be competing in this Survivalrun this year! Maybe next year? :)

And this is a wonderful photograph, showing not only the beautiful canal lined on either side by tall trees, but also showing the brave competitors crossing the canal by means of the ropes suspended across it. Did anybody fall in the water?

Gorgeous light and colours, perfect exposure, a fine diagonal composition and exquisite details and sharpness.

A familiar area in your gallery but a very different photo. The people trying to cross the canal by hanging onto the ropes add a new and interesting feature. Apart from that, the superb sharpness and exposure are what we have learned to expect from you.

Your not has a lot of informations. The length of the canal is giving depth and perspective to the composition. You have capture well the action of the persons. The point of view is showing the details of the bridge and of the trees. Have a nice day.

The Survivalrun looks a bit too energetic for my liking! Still, it's nice to see others participating. Wonderful long perspective down this canal that runs straight as a die. I like the repeating motifs offered by the trees now devoid of their leaves. Top class technical quality as always.

The diagonal canal adds dynamism. Perhaps a wee bit oversharpened but it would look great on facebook which has a tendency to look soft. Marvellous repetition of the bg trees, & tfs!

Mooie variatie aan je kanaalthema, John. Eerst had ik geen flauw benul van wat die oversperring was, je noot en dan nog eens terugkijken maakt het duidelijk. Mooi fotowerkje.

Training on a survival mission... but in a wonderful surrounding - not in the South-America Jungles, John.
As said, the scenery of the canal and fields is breath-taking sight here, the added ropes across and figures upon enliven the scene.
