Photographer's Note

I am sorry to disappoint those of you who after seeing my previous photo hoped to see now the Helmsley Castle.

The castle I present here may be difficult to recognize and in fact every evening during the firework display it changes colors and patterns so many times that it is hard to believe it is the same castle. I have already showed you a blue hour view of it from a different angle. The fireworks displays happen usually when the sky is completely dark, so here I go again.

The fireworks display is so designed that one has an optimal view standing centrally in front of the castle. People try to occupy the best spots a lot of time in advance. I really wanted to see the display but I wasn’t desperate enough to sit on the ground for 2 hours. When I arrived 1 hour in advance all best spots were taken. At the blue hour there was still plenty of waiting time so I asked to be let into somebody else’s spot just to take quick blue hour photo but for the fireworks display I needed to find my own spot. And so I ended up in this point of view here. The view was amazing however the fireworks were usually exploding a bit to the right from the castle while standing in this spot. It didn’t affect the pleasure of viewing it but in the picture it was hard to have a close up of the castle with the fireworks exploding immediately next to it. So in this respect the photo is far from perfect but I am very satisfied with the outcome anyway.

It was certainly the best fireworks display I have ever seen.
