Photographer's Note

On a sunny day in the city of Deventer in the Netherlands. A nice shadow of a lamppost and a bicycle.
Deventer has almost 100,000 inhabitants and is located on the river IJssel. A beautiful city with many ancient monuments.
The so-called 'Hanseatic city' has become rich with trade: especially in salt, fish, grain, beer and textiles. The richness can be found in the stately buildings that stand there. A Hanseatic city was a partnership between German and Northern European trade cities from the 13th to the 18th century. The 'Koggeschip' played an important role in transport, import and export.
Furthermore, the city of Deventer is known for its 'Deventer Koek', which is why the city becomes the 'cake city'.
