Now for a classic sand dune in Mungo National Park, the sort that many people think of when sand dunes and deserts are mentioned.
Philippe asked whether animal life is possible in this area - for the answer go to the 2nd workshop photo which I took in the same area a few years ago.
The first workshop shows another scene as I climbed the main photo sand dune.

Hi Ian,
Beautiful photo of this dune, well framed with the top with the curve line, good effect with the corner and tree on the right side, good contrast effect, tfs.

Hello Ian,
We feel to be sharing this exploration of Mungo NP with you, and wondering what will be coming next! The sense of desert, of arid conditions, is even more pronounced.
Though I like this shot, the w/s, with the footprints, for me, is better.
I like how the dune emerges from the top l/h corner, making a blue, triangle of sky, and, of course, the footsteps add a guiding path, plus a narrative.
Thanks for these,
Bev 😊

Hello Ian,
Kangaroos are apparently very tough animals that can live in very difficult conditions.
Many people immediately think of sand dunes when they hear the word desert. In that sense perhaps a more classic view, but still wonderful. The wavy lines of the dune and the colour contrast between sand and sky make this a beautiful photo.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Ian,
It's an impressive dune which makes the desert look like a desert "should" look. But it's only the kangaroo in the WS that tells us this is Australia.

Gert

Hello Ian,
Also at the Belgian coast we have nice sand dunes, but the much building along the sea makes everything broken .
Nice silhouette of splendid dune.
Excellent composition andpleasant colours too.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice evening,
John.

Hi Ian,
I love sand dunes, this is a classic view, as we stereotypically imagine a desert I guess.
I love it.
The sand color goes so well with the blue sky. Some vegetation adds a decorative touch in the corner.
Excellent work,
M

Hello Ian,
Beautiful view of this large sand dune, I really like its smooth shapes and you captured it in pleasant and bright sunlight. The warm/cold colour contrast with the blue sky is very successful.

Hello Ian,
I love dunes! It is quite a chore to climb on them, though.
