Photographer's Note

This spot on the Yarra river is close to the location of the Deep Rock Swimming Club, which hosted competitive and recreational swimming in its heyday. Nothing of the club remains. In 1918 the cliff you see was the site of a record 62.7m dive from a platform constructed at the top. Apparently 50,000 people were there to witness it. Hard to imagine all that activity now; it is just a pleasant spot along the Yarra Bend Park bike/walking track.
