Photographer's Note
Another of my good guys episyrphus-balteatus or more commonly known as a hoverfly because they spend a lot of time zipping around and the hovering over a spot usually a group of flower before briefly settling to feed on the nectra then off again. My camera just isnot fast enough to get them in flight :0((((# one day maybe.
not all of them are as colourfull as this 10mm one, there a lot of nearly black ones and other fold their wings over the body which hids the colours. The iradesence on the wings is normal and not from over sharpening though I have pushed this one to the limit to get as large a picture as possible.
The sur
possible.

I like the collors and the macro shot. the compositie is not the best one, but I know how diffecult it is, to make a perfect macro shot. My complements.

Very good macro with lots of details in it. This chap looks as if he were made from amber, cristal and onyx with wings made of "soap bubbles" ;-)

You must spend an extraordinary amount of times with your camera, because you post a lot of excellent bug shots.
The colors and clear focus reall make this shot for me. I like the way we can see the oily sheen of the wings.

Yebo, Yes!!, as we say here. This is a great one, Robert. The strong diagonal created by the leave, and the Newton Rings on the wings of your friend adds impact to this shot. Sorry, my green men are dead, at least I am on the site again!

The detail shown very well.
A bit unsharp, and the noise is noticable, but still nice. I give big smiley because at smaller resolution, this will look very beauty.
