Photographer's Note

It is terrifying that a tragedy must happen first in order to open someone's eyes: only yesterday few schools, supermarkets and other objects were closed because the thick layers of snow were covering the roofs.
One school headmastress reported that roof over a gym hall groaned under a weight of snow by 8 cm.

Let us hope that the orphan pigeons from Katowice will send their message of peace and warn others. Let never happen tragedy like the ones in Katowice, earlier in Germany, yet earlier in Russia ...

Photo: one of the classical places of Katowice region. The overexposure was a REAL overexposure: few seconds before I shot the scene the sun had left the cloudy area but was so hars that the rays actually "hit" the streets. I remember people stopping and looking at the sun and the rays, it was a rare effect.
