Photographer's Note
La Rambla.
When I see these "statues" I am always thinking how they start their day, where they change their clothes before standing up and do not move for hours. Or they dress up at home, and travel like this through the city :)
This kind of art went to more businessish then before. The statues go angry if you take photos but do not pay. Well, these emotional affairs are not very nice, but I agree, that if you enjoy something, and you will remember to the joy of your trips with the pictures of these guys, you have to honour their performance. So I always keep the coins in my photo-bag.
This guy was friendly, he also had a partner, the queen. As a picture I prefered to show a lonly statue, but as a work I think it is more humanic to have a partner in this quite hard performance.

Hi Marcella, Good capture of this lonely statue. I like the way the light comes in, and the DOF is perfect. Your notes are good!

Very nice capture of this daily life scene. The light, composition and DOF is just great. Well done. Funny, I previously thought it was a real statue, by the thumbnail...

Very good your capture Marcella. The overall grey impression in the pix is perfect for the guy. Very well done, like it a lot...

Nice shot! You've captured this street performer very nicely, good controlled DOF and the lighting is good too. In some ways it's a shame that the background isn't more vivid, that would really emphasise his greyness! I might also be tempted to sharpen him just a little more, but that's a matter of taste more than anything. Well captured :-D

Thanks for your olvely photo and informative notes. I agree with your notes. YOu have captured the man's expressin very well. Maybe you might have increased the sharpness a little bit. Anyways, it is very nice. Regards, Seda...

A very interesting and original shot of this statue-man. His colours are in a very resolute mixture with the background area.
Well done. Jol csinaltad.

Hello Marcie !
I didn't see this king. You succeeded very well in catching his "soul" ...
I posted today a "newspaper" statue taken in La Rambla a few days ago.

Your note tells the story, Marcella, so I don't have much to say...
However, I can say that you captured a good expression here, he is wondering or thinking about his life, perhaps, and you managed to "freeze" that moment. Well done!

another stunning portrait! i really like: the look on his face, his eyes, the clarity and color of your photo, the DOF, the angle you chose, the composition. you take very powerful portraits, i am impressed. i think maybe a black frame would highlight your excellent photo better? I'm not sure if i like the matching colored frame.

Hi Marcella,
I know these guys. No money, no pic! You met the nice one and you made a fine picture. Good expression and POV to show it. Looks like a king with his palace in the background.
