A freak snow storm left a winter's dusting on Sedona's wooing red-rock formations... 45 minutes before sunset.

High ISO; a gausain blur would've been better on the sky.

un paysage fantastique et inhabituel, je dirais même extra-terrestre pour nous les Européens.
Les rouges sont superbes et ressortent bien grâce aux voiles blancs des nuages.
Dommage que le ciel soit bruité, c'est le seul petit défaut e la photo.

How very fortunate you were to get this Caleb. It's a wonderful combination--fog, snow, red rock, and fading light. Change any one of those and the picture isn't the same. Beautiful shot all around.

But seriously, I like the image very much. The snow on the red rocks looks unusual but dramatic at the same time. The low cloud formations add a nice touch to the image.

The heavy mist hanging over those amazing rock formations makes for a dramatic image, and I think maybe going in closer on the rock face and the mist in order to exclude the sky would have made for a stronger shot.
I just find the cyan colour cast in the sky a little off-putting. It's an all too common result of slight over-exposure in blue skies when shooting digitally. You could have set the camera to under-expose in order to record the blue sky correctly, but that would have unacceptably darkened the rock face. Filtration would have been difficult because of the irregular shape of the mountain tops.
I think going in closer and excluding the sky would have been the best choice here.

Very nice shot. The POV is great and the sharpness is perfect. I like very much the colors of this rock in Arizona. The clouds create a very nice atmosphere.

I like the stark contrast, between the sharply defined upper third of the image, & the softness of the fog enshrouded middle sector, in this almost surrealistic scene. Good natural repetition of the beehive formations. Tfs!

for me the slight overexposure in the sky is just overwhelmed by the fog in the red rocks .. just wondrous .. you have composed a magical dream of color and texture ..

A very interesting ansd well composed shot. It seems that and endless range of different lighting conditions and compositions exist here in this much photographed part of the US.

You have some great pictures, but going through your gallery, my eye fell on this one. I just love the cotton-like clouds lying against the mountains, the subtle layer of snow, and the contrast with the reddish colour of the rocks. Amazing!
