On the way up, a photo from Arusha, East

Photographer's Note

When you are up to 3000 meters over the sea level, one of your biggest fears is to suffer altitude sickness that could, eventually, force you to climb down as soon as possible. Yes, you dont want anything going wrong because what you are experiencing is so beautiful that you just want to walk a step further and keep discovering till you reach the summit.
In this case the summit was Uhuru peak, the highest in Africa with 5895 meters, up at the Kilimanjaro volcano. Happily, the four of us succesfully did it. This photo was taken at the Shira plateau, one of the campaments on the way up, in a beautiful sunset.
The experienced mountain people says that you dont finish your task when you reach the peak, you finish it when you climb it all the way down. I would say it last longer, because the excitement reminds in your memory as a sweet kandy much, much longer.

Congrats Miguel, you made it ! I was sitting with Rinha on a terras having a beer when you text her the start of your ascent. This is really beautiful and evocative and very very well composed. Looking forward to the rest of your series!

Esta foto me hace pensar que vamos a ver una serie espectacular y de gran calidad. La línea montañosa del fondo, con su color cenizoso es preciosa, se puede sentir la inmensidad de este espacio. Lss siluetas ayudan a ello realmente. Muy buena composición y colores. ¡A ver las próximas!

Me gusta mucho que que hayas alcanzado la cumbre del Kilimanjaro. Creo que ha sido un gran esfuerzo todavía la emoción es incomparable! Excelente toma, el clima estaba muy bueno. Los colores están fantasticos y me gusta las silluetas en la cratera.

Great job conveying the feeling of solitude on top of Kilimanjaro. The way you left a lot of room for the blue sky makes us feel that the only thing that is higher than the mountain is the sky itself. Also, the inclusion of 3 trekkers adds to the feeling of loneliness on top of this mysterious mountain.

me encanta esta foto. De composicion sencilla, con el horizonte bajo, dando mucho lugar a la inmensidad del cielo. Da la sensacion de un paisage grandioso. Tengo algunas fotos de Mali en las que utilizo una composicion parecida para dar esta sensacion de enormidad del entorno.

Hasta otra,...y felicidades por la cima. Es una cima pendiente para mi, cuando pueda me voy para allá.

I love this photo, on the face of it so simple, but its simplicity is the key to its success. The three silhouettes are perfectly placed and we can share the awe with them. Excellent work

Hola Miguel, this is truly wonderful and very evocative. The dark layer on the foreground with these tiny, tiny figures all looking dow it seems. Really reminds me of my travel to Russia, where I took this photo.
The colors is in the sky are beautiful. Your story and this photo really tell me that you made a wonderful trip.

Esta también tiene gancho, sencilla pero impresionante, seguro que el esfuerzo mereció la pena, debe de ser una experiencia mágica, buena foto donde la inmensidad del paisaje hace que nos demos cuenta de lo insignificante que somos, siempre lo olvidamos y nos aferramos a lo contrario que la lógica nos dicta, vivir en armonía con la Naturaleza, cuidándola y respetándola, seguro que muchos preferirían estar de compras a disfrutar de estas vistas, buen trabajo amigo.

Poco a poco voy a recuperar fotos que había perdido (culpa del ordenador).

Creo que esta foto reúne todo un simbolismo difícil de describir. Y me gusta mucho.
Solo puedo dar la enhorabuena (y no solo por la foto, claro).
