Photographer's Note

A rocky mountain in ‘Acapulco Beach' provides a backdrop to a curved beach in San Fernando, La Union. San Fernando is the capital city of La Union and the regional center of the Ilocos Region. Bounded by the Lingayen Gulf and South China Sea, the city boasts beautiful pristine beaches conducive to various recreational activities and bountiful harvests from the sea. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 115,650 people in 20,755 households. San Fernando is the financial, industrial and political center of the province, engaged in agriculture, aquaculture, shipping using the port of San Fernando, and other industrial sectors. Its ethnic population is predominantly Ilocano and Christian (Roman Catholic).

Hi Danilo,
Nice high POv giving a bird's eye view on that place... exposure is well controlled as both highlights and shadows retained clearly visible, sharp details.
Quite a lot of activity going on down there!

Quite impressive with the rocky cliff in the back. Looks like everybody is taking advantage of the shade. Exposure is very well controlled in this shot.

i wanna be here right now, away from this freezing LA cold! truly, to borrow your words, a pristine beach with that impeccable aerial view (nasaan ka noong kinuha mo itong litrato, btw?). sana'y dinagdagan mo ang image ng bulaklak sa harap, tila'y lantana yan ah, na kung sa atin at di pinapansin pero dito ay $15.00 and isang medium na paso...:-)

Hello Danilo,
Seems like the coastline to South China Sea is some more rocky than most in the Philippines!
And unless you have a banca you have to climb to get there...
Great clarity of the water and a strong diagonal in the composition!

This picture reminds me a lot of the beach at Tulum, Mexico. It is the same type... actually even the color scheme is very similar... The colors of the water are very inviting,

a good vantage point which gives a wide view on the cliffs, beach and sea. The curvy shape of the coast gives kind of dynamic impact to this scenery. Nice transparent water and color tonalities.

des photos paradisiaques pour nous faire un peu quitter la grisaille de l'Europe occidentale. Un POV en altitude qui nous permet de bien voir cette petite crique où les gens peuvent s'adonner tranquillement aux plaisirs de la mer.

From your high POV you showed us a good bird's eye view of this beach. The turquoise colour of the water is very inviting. Like your inclusion of the flowers in the FG. Quite some activity down there with people also trying to park the outriggers. Good shot!

Danilo,
you got for sure a good POV to get this nice place. It seems to me that the light management is quite challenging. Part of the image is almost overexposed and others are quite dark. The difficulty to balance that is due to the most light being in the center and there is no ND grad filter for such a job. The remaining option would be HDR. I guess this is a scanned shot, right? Well, that excludes HDR! Nice presentation!
