Photographer's Note

Today I change of place and time, and I return to my city to show a photo taken in the Port Olímpic, of which already I have presented several photos here.
The Olympic port was constructed in Barcelona in the occasion of the Olympic Games of 1992. The Torre Mapfre presides over this zone, with 43 floors and 154 meters of height, and is work of the architects Iñigo Ortiz and Enrique Leon. The windows of the building reflect the ground, and the tower becomes a gigantic mirror of the activity of the city.
In its ground floor it raises the podium that are occupied by the offices and the restaurants that offer panoramic sights on next marina and the Mediterranean Sea.
From the terrace of one of these restaurants, where we were seated with friends of several zones of Spain which they visited Barcelona, taking an appetizer, I watched upwards and I discovered this scene that inspired me to take the photo. The Torre Mapfre, the palm, the cornice and the flowers were combined perfectly and they offered this strong perspective to me on the clean blue sky.

Hoy cambio de lugar y de tiempo, y vuelvo a mi ciudad para mostrar una foto tomada en el Port Olímpic, del cual ya he presentado varias fotos aquí.
El puerto olímpico se construyó en Barcelona con motivo de los Juegos Olímpicos de 1992. Preside dicha zona la Torre Mapfre, que consta de 43 plantas y tiene 154 metros de altura, y es obra de los arquitectos Iñigo Ortiz y Enrique León. Las ventanas del edificio reflejan el suelo, y la torre se convierte en un espejo gigantesco de la actividad de la ciudad.
En su planta baja se levanta el podium que es ocupado por las oficinas y los restaurantes que ofrecen visiones panorámicas sobre la marina próxima y el mar Mediterráneo.
Desde la terraza de uno de estos restaurantes, donde estábamos sentados con unos amigos de varias zonas de España que visitaban Barcelona, tomando un aperitivo, miré hacia arriba y descubrí esta escena que me inspiró para tomar la foto. La Torre Mapfre, la palmera, la cornisa y las flores se combinaban perfectamente y me ofrecían esta fuerte perspectiva sobre el limpio cielo azul.

Hi Josep,
I admit I prefer the image you have published as the workshop. Somehow I am not comfortable with the hint of bright colours in the image (red and pink).
Still an image of a superb quality.

Josep, c'est un plaisir de découvrir une aussi belle photo. J'aime la composition avec l'arbre et la tour en contre-plongée. Le premier plan oblique agrémenté de fleurs introduit de belle façon.

The strong disagonals make the primary post a stronger composition; to say nothing of the color highlight of the flowers.

Your diagonal capture is very attractive with naturally lower POV. Using palm tree's huge leafs as a curtain before main object is good idea. Colorful flowers, white light bulbs especially Chines lantern are makes your frame splendid one under clear sky. Your workshop post is include more closer and beautiful view of architecture. Hola Josep,
m'agraden molt les dues fotos, tant aquesta com la del WS i les dues podrien ser l'imatge principal, són de gran tècnica i definició.
El POV sens dubte és atractiu i diferent, jugant amb les línees arquitectòniques i la verticalitat de la Torre Maphre. L'entorn de flors i la mediterrànea palmera dóna el toc més artístic i consoliden la imatge. Molt ben vistes!!

It is a very creative shot Josep. Your photographer's eye never leaves you even when enjoying conversation with friends. the palm fronds radiate out just like a giant wheel. The diagonal of the building with the plants works perfectly in the composition. Good work

you had a very good eye to take this effective shot from such a close and not really comfortable pov. It is greatly composed with the flowers adding more colours and the branches of the palmtree. Thanks to them the graphism obtained is fantastic and well seen.

Excellent crop and excellent framing. You did the best choice, with the palmtree in the corner, the terrace as a diagonal and the building, a little hidden. And I like the flowers too, producing some extra colors. The chinese lamp is a funny and cool detail too.

Um ousado ponto de vista...parabéns!
Cores lindas, belo contraste das flores roxas com o azul do céu, e a inclusão da palmeira na composição só acrescentou.

Hola Josep, I can immediately recognize your style on this one. Superb graphic composition. The palmtree on the corner is so good, stretching the leaves to the diagonals on the other corner. The balance is perfect. Beautiful smart capture. The WS is an interesting alternative but this wider view works better.

¡ Que encuadre más bueno ! ..... esto es lo que tiene esta casa, todos los días se aprende algo, me gusta mucho como has conseguido una muy buena composición con un poquito de cada cosa, pero muy bien colocadas... la palmera, el rascacielos, la terraza con las flores y esa perfecta diagonal del alerón del edificio..... una foto 10. Muy buena foto con un POV desde abajo para tomar el edificio y la palma con las flores y el azul del cielo, una buena combinacion. Magnifica composición con la palma cubriendo parte de la arquitectura, los colores y detalles están muy buenos. Me gusta mucho tu WS en el formato vertical.

Hola Josep.
Esta es una foto que en un marco asi pasaria desapercibido para el ojo de la mayoria, pero un fotografo avezado sabe conseguir una magnifica foto con elementos corrientes. Me gusta mucho ese corte en diagonal dividiendo la toma en dos triangulos, por un lado la terraza florida y por el otro el picado de la torre y las ramas de la palmera velandola ligeramente como un abanico, como siempre buen equilibrio de la luz y color.
