Intro: Born in Scotland in 1941, I grew up by the sea until I was 13, and it is one of my great passions, as well as gardening, music, walking and now photography. Although I love looking at things, both in detail and from a wider point of view, I came very late to photography. Quarter of a century ago, I dabbled with an Olympus OM20, and even did some film processing. Being a Scot though, it was difficult to press the shutter release button, as the processing costs as well as film were expensive. 2 years ago, I was given a pocket Sony digital when I left work to live in Norway. This opened the flood gates. I have learned so much in the last couple of years, both by looking at the work of others, and receiving constructive criticism. I still let my enthusiasm run away with me at times.

There is so much to learn, both about photography and the wide world, and so many places that I shall never see, so TE is, for me, a great site. Please feel free to give me advice, I certainly need it.
