This is most people's first view of the Selime Monastery. The red arrows on the rock faces indicate upwards direction of travel and the white arrows are for tourists heading downwards. I might load a workshop later of a closer view almost at the bg terrace. There is less than a page of shots from here on TE.

The Upper Terrace of Selime Monastery. Those 'D' shaped grooves in the rock are alcoves for pigeons. The monks that once lived here and raised the pigeons for their eggs.
