Workshop Note

Note: these lines are repeated on my other WS of the same post.

I was teased by the luisafonso's critique and the discussion that followed it. Luís said that it was preferable that the sky was either completely cropped or it should fill all the top third.

I was about replying that I don't agree when I decided to make an experiment.

Here it goes what I had already written before I went doing this and another WS:

«In the majority of situations, I would agree that such a tiny piece of sky doesn't look very nice, but actually here it results very well, enabling the lines of the vines to be prolonged to the invisible part of the landscape. Having much more sky also wouldn't work so well because it would lower the graphic impact of the vines.»

I was pretty confident about the rightfulness of my opinion, but it turned out that I changed my opinion after looking at the WS's. This one lacks a bit the impact of the original, but I think it's more pleasant to the eye. The other one, without the sky, doesn't look bad either.

Luis also stated that the biker should be on a lower position, but I didn't experiment anything with that because my 'visual intuition' told me that the position was perfect and the measures I have done let me discover that the bike is very close to one of the 'golden points' of the image.
